Once on board she finds not only on dead body, but many, with no sign of how the shipmates and captain died.

Dr. Charles Koenig, Chazz, is collecting specimens off the island of Kilauea, near the underwater lava flow in hopes to find out if the toxins from the volcanic eruption changes or mutates the sea life when he is called in to help Lieutenant Cobb Takamura figure out what killed the people on the ship.

Back on the mainland Cobb is furious he has to fight the Coast Guard for rights to investigate the deaths on the ship. And his list with these murders keeps growing. Zombie like people are getting brought into the hospital, 2 more dead bodies are found, he has to figure out where the ship drifted in from, and his family and Chazz’s family are being threatened.

There were many twists and turns in Venom, great descriptions of the islands, and the Charlie Chan quotes were fabulous. Rob Swigart kept me guessing on the “why” of the murders.
