As this weeks Featured Author

8187575 I was born on March 14th of 1985, in Rosario, Argentina. At the age of 10 I wrote my first fairy tale as a way to deal with a very painful earache. I found writing comforting and distracting. After that day, I continued writing every time I felt the need of leaving realty behind.
By the age of 18 I had around 120 pieces written, between fairy tales, poems, life’s reflections and other stories. I always wanted to publish my stories but never had the confidence to do it. After my son was born, my husband and my best friend gave me the confidence that I needed to start writing my first book.
I decided to start translating and eventually publish one of my favorite stories, hoping to bring the fantasy and imagination back to all those kids and young readers that would adventure themselves into its pages. That’s how Chronicles of the Nocturnal Forest was born.

The Diary of Amanda (Stories of the Fairy of my Dreams, #2)

Before waking up I went to the ancient wooden house, outside the forest. I knew the path very well. I met Patrick at the entrance and together we went down to the basement, where a large collection of books and journals awaited to be opened.

My interest was settled on a big chest. I knew there was something important there, it was calling me. I looked inside and found a small box, opened it and found a diary. The leather cover had a small oval in the center, and a black and white picture of a beautiful girl reading a book.

I opened it and in the first page I read:
“This diary belongs to Amanda and you should not read it without her consent. If you do, be aware of the possible consequences.”

I closed the diary, but didn’t put it back into the chest. I pressed it against my chest with my right hand, noticing that dawn was near.
I turned to Patrick who was looking at me with a sad face.

“Will I see you again, Melanie?” He asked grabbing my free hand.

“I don’t know, now that I know what I have to do, I don’t know if I will dream of Astebeth anymore”.

“That’s a shame; I really wanted to know more about you”.

He got closer to me; I closed my eyes and stopped breathing for a moment, noticing his intention to kiss me. I felt his warm breath on my cheek and opened my eyes to look at him, but the only thing I saw was the ceiling of my bedroom.

I sat fast on my bed. I couldn’t believe my luck, almost had my first kiss, it was inside a dream, but I knew it was real, and I woke up just before he could reach my lips.

I was very frustrated; I stood up from the bed and heard a noise as if something hard dropped to the floor.

I looked under the bed, and that’s when I saw it.
Somehow I brought the diary with me to this world. I opened it again to make sure it was the same diary, and saw something new on the first page, handwritten with a still fresh black ink.

“To Melanie, from Amanda”
