Welcoming in the Spring Equinox #specials

Blake by Lynn Thompson

Blake by Lynn ThompsonThe last month has been crazy. My mother ended up in the hospital and has been diagnosed with dementia. She is now in a home because she can no longer take care of herself. It has been up to me and my sister to take care of her financial situation among other things. (Someone should create a handbook for this kind of stuff.) There has been a long list of paperwork to read and sign and we’re still not done.

Yesterday, the spring equinox, I got my first real break and headed out for a hike with a friend of mine. We found a small gurgling stream to sit by, watched the butterflies glide around us and let the scent of warm earth, pine, and the overtone of vanilla from the Ponderosa Pine trees fill our senses and rejuvenate our spirit. Such a glorious spring day:) So as a Spring Equinox gift from me to you Blake-A Montana Dayton Novel is On Sale Now for $1.99 on AmazonThat’s $2.00 off the original price! Plus if you Leave a Review of Blake on Amazon, contact me with the review link and I’ll send you a free copy of Sterling (the next book in the Montana Dayton Series:)

If Montana had known what she would be confronting that night, she never would have sedated Max.

Lottery winner and venture capitalist Montana Dayton is on vacation, sorely needing a break from her business. She purposely had a house built deep in the mountains, away from civilization in hopes to spend the winter alone with her dog Killer. Unfortunately, the universe is conspiring against her. Montana’s getting creepy feelings from something or someone on her property and Rose, her neighbor, is bringing new “friends” into her life.

If that wasn’t enough to ruin Montana’s vacation, the dangerously attractive Max surely would! Max has the uncanny ability to show up when he’s not wanted. What Montana doesn’t realize is Max knows what’s out in the woods and it’s his job to find it.

Max knows Montana can sense it even though she cannot see it and has decided that she needs to be protected from the unseen danger, but who will protect Montana from Max?

Sneak Peek Chapter Nine

Max slowed down when the trees became dense and we gradually wound our way in between them to a small clearing that led to his house. His house sat, or I should say, big cabin, sat inside the center of the clearing. I spotted a dirt road in my peripheral vision, or what I thought might be a dirt road. The snow covered most of the tread marks from his truck and smoothed out in the distance. A fortress of trees encompassed his cabin on all sides, making the area a hard place to find. I’d have to pay better attention to my surroundings on the way back home, just in case I needed to get back here on my own one day. As we coasted to a stop, I noticed an empty pen, but no wolves.

Max hopped off the snowmobile and followed my gaze. “They’re roaming my property,” he said. “I don’t pen them up, but they do come back at night on their own and sleep in there.”

Why do you have them?”

For protection, they don’t let anything unwanted in.”

My face paled. I’d been scouting Max’s property with my dog and my horse while the wolves ran loose. Did the wolves know I was here? Would they have attacked me if they knew?

Are you alright?”

Sure.”

Don’t worry, you’re safe here.”

Rose said you’re building a barn. Where is it?” I was pretty sure Max didn’t have enough space to build a barn in the clearing.

Umm…” A touch of guilt flashed in Max’s eyes.

You were planning on leaving your horse in my barn for the duration, weren’t you?” Great, I’d already been stuck with Max before I moved up here.

Prologue:Books in New Mexico

In the deep waters off the Florida Gulf Coast, the sands shifted with the winds and tides of time, scattering all that has floated down to rest on the bottom of the ocean.

Once will be again the waters sighed.

As if that isn’t too much to handle, Max has found her and insists they continue their relationship where they left off. But Montana has bigger concerns than dating Max. Besides she’s not sure if she can trust him. Where are the jewels coming from? Why can’t she remember?

Will Max be able to save her this time or will Montana be dragged under by a force that’s too big for even Max?

Blake Reviews:

Lynn Thompson’s Book, Blake is spot on with her dialog and descriptions. She really makes you feel as though you are part of the action. Endings often conclude as you expected but not so with Ms. Thompson’s book, Blake. You want to keep reading until you come to the exciting and unexpected conclusion. — C. H.

The authors skilled use of words to describe the environment helps to create an atmosphere that makes you feel as though you’re in the book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it kept me involved until the end. I highly recommend this title and look forward to future works from the author. Concerned Mom

Montana Dayton is one tough lady – wealthy, attractive, tattooed and sporting a .357 revolver. When the story opens she is driving to her new home in the mountains, with her dog Killer.

In a moody and highly atmospheric couple of opening chapters we meet some of the other characters who live up in the mountains. There is Montana’s friend Rose. There is also Rose’s boyfriend Bear.

And then there is the handsome and mysterious Max.

“I’ve decided you need to be protected,” Max tells Montana. And sure enough, when she has a horse riding accident he unexpectedly comes to the rescue. But then he keeps intruding into her life. Is it just that he finds her desirable? Or is something more going on?

In any case, Montana has feelings for Max, too, and a relationship develops.

It all develops into an exciting story with many twists and an unexpected climax.

This is a lively, fast-moving novel, with well-drawn characters and a strong sense of atmosphere. I shall look forward to more books in this series. –Martin Roth

I really enjoyed reading this. What I particularly loved is the way the author so skilfully sets a pace and takes you with her. Avery clever plot, some twists and turns which is what make the book gather pace and keeps you reading. I really liked the characters and could feel with them, such is the use of descriptive and emotive language. Its a gripping plot that holds you! For me, what I really enjoyed is the way the author describes the environments and action the characters are in, its becoming unusual to find an author who takes the time to be seductive in the art of description. A must read for anyone that likes to be taken on a journey. Really looking forward to the next novel which is out in the new year.Watch this author…….I think we will see some great books come from her!— Sarria

This is a book with a wonderful, very intriguing plot and a very atmospheric writing style. I honestly didn’t see what was coming, and the characterisation was so strong that I quickly found myself caring for the characters. It’s been a while since I read something so gripping. Highly recommended — Crossy 1975

Lynn Thompson’s home is in the Land of Enchantment, and, yes, the land is enchanting. The skies are blue, the stars are bright., and there are beautiful panoramic landscapes surrounding her hometown. Lynn wades through the craziness of life to follow her true passion, writing fiction. You can find her, or not, trekking through the mountains, searching for fairies and vortexes, keeping her eye out for anything paranormal, or sitting in the hot springs in her spare time. Lynn doesn’t have a specific genre she writes in. Characters have a way of leading her stories. She follows. Lynn is also a sponge when it comes to knowledge. She’s always on the move to continue her education in writing, marketing, social media, digital media, and hopes to find the extra time to add some criminal investigation classes to her repertoire. Lynn has three novels out: Blake, Sterling, and Tarnished Gold. Blake is the beginning of Montana’s story. Her need for seclusion, at least, for one winter. She does not get what she wants. There is someone or something in the mountains stalking her, people keep showing up on her doorstep, and she meets Max. Max knows what is hunting Montana, but won’t tell her. Montana’s lack of trust in Max drives her to fix her own problems. If she had known what she’d be confronting that night, she never would have sedated Max. Sterling is the second novel in the Montana Dayton series. Montana moves to Florida hoping to escape her old life, and regain her normal life back, but her past has come back to haunt her. Not only does she start losing time, she continues to wake up every morning wearing gorgeous jewels and is surrounded by precious gems. She never remembers where, or who she’s getting the glittery baubles from and is hell bent to get back her memories and return the jewels. Afraid she has been out robbing houses in the middle of the night, she is determined to figure out what is happening on her own. That is until the dreams and the strong pull to explore the gulf. When she finally realizes she needs help, she is powerless to get it. Tarnished Gold is Sam’s story and will be coming out around the new year. Sam first appeared in Sterling and demanded her own novel. Lynn has bowed to Sam’s wishes and is writing that story now. Lynn is also the proud owner of: Dark Fates. Eight short stories that are fun, but still on the dark side. Dark Fates-Madness. Four dark short stories. News Worthy. News Worthy stands alone with five short stories. Watching the news first thing in the morning may not be fun, but dissecting news clips and re-writing them into short stories that had a different ending was a blast! Dark Fates Collections is compiled of Dark Fates, Dark Fates-Madness, News Worthy, and features Karma Shay’s adventures.
