The Next Big Thing: News Worthy

(The cover is still a work in progress.)

Thank You for tagging me in an innovative writer meme where we each post ten answers about a work in progress.

1. What is the working title of your book?
News Worthy

2. Where did the idea come for the book?
I am the type of person who cannot stand watching the news, it’s too depressing for my spirit. Unfortunately the news has found a way to enter my life recently, so I decided to kick it up a notch and write about the blurbs I’ve been hearing on TV. So far I have 3 short stories and I am writing my fourth right now.

3. What genre does your book fall under?
Fiction?

4. Which characters would you choose to play your characters in the movie version?
Hmmm…They would have to be more “real people” characters, not already know movie stars. Remember News Worthy is based on every day people that are presented with the opportunity to be on the news, whether that be a good or bad thing.

5. What is the one sentence synposis of your book?
It’s not one sentence, but here it is:

I couldn’t help but write News Worthy. I rarely watch the news, but I have felt surrounded by it lately and caught many strange clips on the same day. I put those daily clips together to make some short stories. This makes the news a little more imaginative and interesting for me. Enjoy.

6. Will your book be self published or represented by an agency?
Self Published. My books don’t fit into the publishers “popular Genre” at this time.

7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
The short stories have flowed from me, so I could be still writing my first draft? Though I have read, re-read, and added to the first 3 stories.

8. What other books would you compare this story with in your genre?
None. News Worthy is a different writing style for me and actually started out as an exercises to tighten up my writing.

9. What or who inspired you to write this book?
The News. Most of their stories are about death, drugs, politics and things that are depressing. A lot of times you don’t get the whole story about the people who have made the news. I decided to spice the news up by combining the clips I catch.

10. What else about your book might pique a reader’s interest?
The stories give a different outlook on the news and maybe the way people watch it.

Now I get to tag five other writers so you check out their work and hopefully they’ll post about their new projects as well.
